NPR reports from Riverhead Raceway on thrills of demolition derby

Demolition derbys have been a staple of Saturday night’s at Riverhead Raceway.

Tonight, for example, is a school bus demolition derby to go along with a full slate of racing.

NPR reporter Charles Lane recently visited Riverhead Raceway to catch some of the derby action. His report was published today, under the headline, ‘You Gotta Keep Smashin’ And Shashin’ And Smashin’!’
