Cops: Intoxicated woman with marijuana screams at cops at town dock

SoutholdPD - Summer - 500

Southold Town police charged a Mattituck woman with disorderly conduct and a drug violation Thursday night after she cursed at officers who were helping the intoxicated woman, according to a police statement. Police later found she had marijuana at the time of her arrest, police said.

Police officers got a call about a woman “running toward the end of the dock screaming” at Mitchell Park about 10:55 p.m., police said. There they found Alison Cooper, 24, climbing down a ladder into the water. The intoxicated Ms. Cooper came back up to the dock and officers tried to help her, police said.

As they helped her up, the woman yelled obscenities at the officers “in front of citizens who were at the park,” the statement reads. Ms. Cooper was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. She was taken to police headquarters where police found she was also carrying marijuana.

She was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and held for arraignment.
