Jennie F. Pawluczyk

Jennie F. Pawluczyk of Cutchogue died Aug. 2, 2013. She was 97 years old.

She was born May 21, 1916, to John and Josephine Buzilek and later married Bennie Pawluczyk.
She loved being a farmer’s wife, working in the fields alongside her husband. She also enjoyed growing vegetables and flowers. Her favorite pastimes were embroidery and crocheting. Later, she began making afghans for all her family and friends.

Jennie was a communicant of Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C Church in Cutchogue, where she sang in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society.

Predeceased by her husband, Bennie, she leaves her children, Bertha (Larry) Taylor of Calverton, Kathleen Gallagher of San Diego, Calif., and Bennie (Elizabeth) Pawluczyk of Cutchogue; eight grandchildren, Barbara Youngs, Patricia Paradise, Neil, Michael, Karen, John and James Gallagher, and Cheryl Aid; great-grandchildren Blake and Shayna Zamora, Caitlyn and Victoria Aid, Amanda Shirley and Jennifer and Stephen Gallagher; and a great-great-grandchild, Cardin Shirley. She was predeceased by her sisters, Stephania Lakowitz and Josephine Madonia.

The family received friends Aug. 5 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 6 at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church, officiated by Father Stanislaw Wadowski. Interment was at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue.
