Thomas A. Feeley Jr.

Thomas A. Feeley Jr., 87, of Southold, passed away at Stony Brook University Hospital Aug. 29 after suffering complications from babesiosis, a tick-borne disease.

He was born Nov. 28, 1925, in Brooklyn to Maurice and Ellen Feeley and raised in Mineola, graduating from Mineola High School. He was married to Marilyn (née Menkes) for over 54 years until her passing in 2008. He leaves behind his faithful canine companion Tobey. Surviving children include Ellen Smith-Perez (Alphonso) of Florida, Thomas M. (Linda) of Bohemia, Denise Feeley-Manarel (Ross) of Riverhead, Arleen Skwara (Tony) of Texas, and Richard (Michelle) of Southold. He was the adored grandfather of Thomas, Jennifer, Christine (Greg), Richard, Sarah, Jordan Ross, Andrew, Renee, Kendra, Michael, Mackenzie and Patrick; and great-grandfather of Kaitlyn, Jaidyn, Fiona, and John Thomas. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Feeley worked for New York Telephone Company until his retirement in 1984. He was a proud World War II U.S. Navy Veteran and member of Southold American Legion Post 803. He enjoyed yard work and gardening.

Visitation was Sept. 2 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Sept. 3 at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Southold, followed by burial with military honors at Calverton National Cemetery.
