Edwin C. Gerrity Sr.

Edwin C. Gerrity Sr. of Orient and East Rockaway died Sept. 24. He was 84 years old.

Founder of the Edwin C. Gerrity Agency, an insurance agency in East Rockaway, he was a longtime summer resident of Orient, where he was a past vice commodore of the Orient Yacht Club. He also belonged to the Oysterponds Rod and Gun Club and was an avid boater and golfer, family members said.

Mr. Gerrity is survived by seven children and nine grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were handled by Perry Funeral Home in Lynbrook.
