To the editor:

As a beachfront homeowner in Mattituck for over 25 years, we have never stopped anyone from walking on our beach, nor have any of our neighbors for that matter. What we don’t like is for people to set up beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers. I don’t feel this is unreasonable.

I wouldn’t set up camp in someone’s backyard because I respect their privacy and property.

Please respect ours.
