The Southold boys soccer team travels to Diamond in the Pines in Coram this afternoon to face Friends Academy in the Class C Long Island championship. The First Settlers are aiming for their first Long Island crown since 2008.

Southold earned a spot in this afternoon’s game by defeating Pierson/Bridgehampton Saturday, 5-2, behind a hat trick from Drew Sacher.

The Settlers will be taking on a Friends Academy team that lost just once this season and is currently ranked second in the state for Class C. Southold is ranked ninth.

The winner of today’s game advances to Saturday’s regional finals against the winner of Section I/IX.
