Southold Town police are investigating a “street fight” in the Adams Street parking lot in Greenport that ended with injuries to three men involved and Eastern Long Island Hospital employees after the fight continued in the hospital’s emergency room early Sunday morning, police said.

Hraklis Morris, 36, of Greenport, Walter Arevalo, 24, of Shelter Island, and Luis Mijangos, 33, of Southold all ended up at the hospital after being injured during the midnight street fight, which involved a knife, police said. At about 12:30 a.m., the fight continued in the emergency room, according to police.

While breaking up the fight, members of the hospital staff sustained minor injuries, police said, though they declined comment on the number of employees who were injured or the number of suspects involved in the fight.

Two of the men had “serious lacerations” from either “a knife or similar type cutting instrument” used by “at least” one of the participants at the Adams Street incident, police said.

Mr. Arevalo was transferred to Stony Brook University Medical Center due to the serious nature of his injuries, police said. Mr. Morris and Mr. Mijangos were treated at ELIH.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Southold Police Department at (631) 765-2600.
