A woman was hospitalized after two cars collided on Route 25 in Southold Saturday afternoon, fire officials said.

The two vehicles — a green Mazda sedan and a white SUV — crashed about 12:10 p.m. just north of Maple Avenue.

Southold firefighters and Southold police were called to the scene and removed a woman from the Mazda, which had its front end damaged.

The victim was taken to Eastern Long Island hospital. No one else was injured in the crash.

Fire police closed Route 25 westbound as fire crews and police cleared the scene. By 12:45, the road was reopened.
