Route 48 briefly closed in Greenport following accident
Two women were transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital following a two-car accident that closed Route 48 in both directions near Chapel Lane this afternoon, officials said.
The women were being treated for non-serious injuries, officials said. Greenport Fire Department responded to the accident between a Mazda 5 and Volkswagen Jetta about 3:15 p.m. A man who was a passenger in the Mazda was uninjured, officials said.
