Cops: Greenport man arrested after hiding stolen beer in his pants

A 29-year-old  man was nabbed last Friday after walking out of IGA in Greenport without paying for beer he hid in his pants, according to a Southold Town police report.

An assistant manager at the grocery store called police at around 4 p.m. after noticing Juan Rodriguez of Greenport stuffing three packs of Coors Light down his pants, police said.

Mr. Rodriguez was later arrested and charged with petit larceny, officials said.

He was processed and held overnight for arraignment, police said.
