A New York City mother was issued a summons following a car accident in Southold Friday morning, according to a Southold Town police press release.

Juliana Zinger, 46, was driving on Tuckers Lane at around 10:20 a.m. and collided with another vehicle when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic while making a left turn onto Route 48, police said.

Although the press release says two children ages 10 and 8 were involved in the accident, it states Ms. Zinger and “her three children” were taken to Peconic Bay Hospital.

When contacted by The Suffolk Times for clarification, police said no one would be available until Monday to comment on the discrepancy.

Ms. Zinger was issued a summons for failure to yield to another vehicle, police said.

The other driver was taken to Eastern Long Island Hospital, officials said.

No other details about the incident were available.
