The State Parks Department and the state Department of Environmental Conservation are taking part in Cyber Monday – offering those who book a stay at one of New York’s campsites a bonus gift card if they book today .

The agencies are offering a bonus $25 camping gift card to those who book a minimum of a two-night stay online, according to a release from the agencies.

Those who book on Cyber Monday will be able to make a reservation at one of more than 15,000 campsites — including Wildwood State Park in Wading River — for dates throughout Labor Day weekend, pending availability and some restrictions may apply, according to the release.

The card can then be used to book a future stay at a later point, officials said.

“We see this promotion as a great opportunity for our returning campers to get in an extra camping trip next season, or as a perfect gift for that hard-to-buy-for outdoor-enthusiast,” said DEC Commissioner Joe Martens.

Reservations have to be made at the State Parks website by 11:59 p.m.

State Parks Commissioner Rose Harvey said, “this special is unique because it will allow our loyal customers to come back and camp even cheaper next time or gift the card to someone who has yet to experience all that camping in New York State has to offer.”
