Helen Warner Bicking

Helen Warner Bicking of Mattituck and Manasquan, N.J., passed away peacefully Jan. 16, 2014. She was 75.

She was born in Brooklyn to Bill and Marion Warner, grew up in Garden City and is an alumna of Averett College in Danville, Va.

Helen maintained residences in both Manasquan and Mattituck, where she spent time walking her dog, Ozzie. She enjoyed floral arranging, playing bridge, gardening and traveling. She was happiest when gathered with her family and many friends. She derived great joy as president of the Friends of Mattituck-Laurel Library, generating funds for children’s programs. Helen had a wonderful life and was greatly loved.

She is survived by three children, her son Ted and his wife, Bienn; her son John and his wife, Kelly; and her daughter, Kathy; and her grandchildren Jake, Shea and a third who will be born next month. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Warner, his wife, Wendy, and their children, Farrell and Sarah.

A celebration of Helen’s life will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, from 4 to 6 p.m, at Neary-Quinn Funeral Home in Manasquan, N.J. Additionally, a memorial service will be held in Long Island this summer.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Mattituck-Laurel Library.
