Emma F. Tschiember

Emma F. Tschiember of Southold died Jan. 20, 2014, at San Simeon by the Sound nursing home in Greenport. She was 91. 

She was born in Queens Sept. 29, 1922, to Leopold and Emma (Maulin) Kusold.

A Southold resident for many years, Emma had been a supervisor in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office for over 30 years.

Emma enjoyed the state of Maine, where she bought and sold real estate. She will also be remembered for her fondness of animals, especially cats.

Predeceased by her husband, Martin, in 1988, she leaves her son, Alan M. Tschiember, and daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Tschiember, of Southold.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 24 at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Southold. Interment took place at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes.
