Jeanne Dzenkowski Willumsen

Jeanne Dzenkowski Willumsen died Jan. 4 at Southampton Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 83. 

She was born Jan. 28, 1930, to Andrew and Apolonia Dzenkowski of East Marion and graduated from Greenport High School. She later studied at Southampton School of Nursing and spent her nursing career working at Southampton Hospital, where family members said her passion was working on the cardiac care unit. After retirement, Ms. Willumsen was very active at Southampton Town senior centers. She also volunteered at the Parrish Art Museum.

Ms. Willumsen is survived by a brother, George Dzenkowski of Southold; four daughters, Linda Jones of Water Mill, Susan, of Kingston, N.H., Patricia DiBenedetto of Lincoln, R.I., and Robin Gibbs of Calverton; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Andrew, Joseph and Daniel and her sisters, Julia, Natalie, Marcella and Alice.

The family will receive visitors Friday, Jan. 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton, where a funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. Cremation will be private.
