Mary Ann Sieczka

Mary Ann (Sabolsky) Sieczka of Mattituck and The Villages, Fla., died Jan. 25, 2014. She was 70. 

She was born to William B. and Helen (Midla) Sabolsky in Fort Walton, Fla., and grew up in Marianna, Pa. She graduated from Mercyhurst College in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in home economics.

Her career included adult education and owning and managing Tic Tac Toys in Mattituck and Togs-N-Things in Southold. Ms. Sieczka’s major role, however, was that of homemaker, raising three children and being the core of her family. She was married to Joseph Sieczka for 47 years.

Her wide-ranging talents included watercolor painting and numerous crafts. Ms. Sieczka had belonged to the Cedarettes, the Sweet Adelines, the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce and the North Fork Community Theatre. In her retirement, she also enjoyed golfing.

Predeceased by her parents, Ms. Sieczka is survived by her husband, Joseph; children, Elizabeth Sieczka (James Felakos), Michael Sieczka (Heather Cameron) and Michelle Scheer (David Scheer); and grandchildren, Kimberly and Jessica Scheer, Lucia Sieczka, and James and Alexander Felakos.

The family will receive visitors Friday, Jan. 31, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick R.C. Church, Southold, followed by interment at Cutchogue Cemetery.
