Samuel Luque Jr.

Samuel Luque Jr. of Sarasota, Fla., and Greenport died Jan. 8, 2014, in Florida. He was 70. 

He was born Sept. 24, 1943, to Samuel and Ethelle Luque of Long Island City, Queens, the first of six children. He served with distinction in the U.S. Army and had a successful career at the Securities and Exchange Commission and the National Association of Securities Dealers.

Predeceased by his first wife, Eileen (Sierra); his brother, Earl, and his sister Peggy, Mr. Luque is survived by his wife, Francine; two children, Christian, of Virginia, and Danielle, of Washington, D.C.; his sisters Emily, Deborah and Barbara; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mr. Luque is also survived by Francine’s children, Elena Victoria of Maryland and Chuck Prato of Vienna, Austria, and their children.

A funeral Mass was held Jan. 17 at St. Mary R.C. Church in Ridgefield, Conn.

Memorial donations in Mr. Luque’s memory may be made to St. Agnes R.C. Church in Greenport, Eastern Long Island Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
