Cops: Mattituck man charged with driving drunk

• A Mattituck man was arrested for driving drunk in Cutchogue early Sunday morning, Southold Town police said.

Andrew Faircloth, 24, was stopped on Route 25 near Alvahs Lane for failing to maintain his lane and speeding about 2:30 a.m., according to a police report.

Mr. Faircloth was found to be intoxicated and taken to Southold Town Police headquarters to be held morning arraignment, police said.

Mr. Faircloth was previously arrested by Southold Police in November 2012 for robbing a man at knifepoint at the Broken Down Valise tavern in Mattituck, police records show.
