Cops: Greenport man charged with felony burglary
A Greenport man who was arrested twice in the past three months was charged with felony burglary after attempting to steal loose change and bottles for deposit from a Greenport home in January, Southold Town Police said.
A Manor Place homeowner reported Anthony Chance, 33, had entered its home on Jan. 14, police said.
The homeowner identified Mr. Chase, who was later located at a bus stop in Greenport about 9:30 a.m. Friday, according to a report.
Mr. Chance was arrested on second-degree burglary charges, and arraigned shortly after. He was being held without bail at Suffolk County Jail in Riverside, according to a report.
In December, Mr. Chance was arrested for trespassing at a Second Street home. A month earlier he had been arrested on trespassing and marijuana possession charges after he was seen on a fenced-in property on Broad Street, according to prior Suffolk Times reports.
