Donald H. Ostroski

Former Greenport resident Donald H. Ostroski died Feb. 10 at his home in Virginia Beach, Va. He was 80.

Mr. Ostroski was born May 25, 1933, in Greenport to Joseph and Ruth Ostroski. He entered the U.S. Navy right after high school, serving  for 22 years. He later graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. 

He was an honorary member of Standard Hose Fire Company in Greenport and VFW Post 392 in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Ostroski is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara (née Kalin); two children, Donna Beere and Stevan; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
