State Senator Ken LaValle is seeking nominations for induction into the New York State Senate’s Veterans Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame in Albany is a tribute to New York residents who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Two East End war heros, Army  1st Lieutenant Joseph J. Theinert of Shelter Island and Marine Lance Corporal Jordan C. Haerter of Sag Harbor,  were posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012.

“In the past, our Hall of Fame selections from our area have exemplified the best in the ranks,” Mr. LaValle said in a press release. “I expect that trend to continue again with this year’s process.”

To apply, download the form below or visit the senator’s website and submit it by April 14. The nominee’s biography, rank and file at the time of discharge or end of service needs to be included, as well as as a high-resolution photography and details about military awards, honors, or achievements, officials said.

This year’s ceremony will take place May 20.
