Southold Town is taking another stab at establishing parking restrictions in Orient.

Town Board members on Tuesday set a public hearing for March 11 at 7:30 p.m. for members of the public to weigh in on a draft proposal to restrict parking at the intersection of Village Lane and King Street.

Board members considered similar legislation in June 2012 but ultimately tabled a decision on the matter after residents complained.

Preliminary meetings with those who live closest to the intersection and emergency responders in the area have lead members to believe the wording of the new proposal would satisfy all parties, Mr. Russell said.
