Neighborhood News: Cutchogue F.D. hosting Steak Night
CUTCHOGUE, NEW SUFFOLK

You’re invited to the Cutchogue Fire Department’s annual Steak Night Dinner this Saturday, March 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the firehouse. Tickets are $30. For information visit cutchoguefiredept.org or call 734-6907.
A lot of hard work, heart and soul go into the annual East End Lions Club annual dinner. This year it will be held March 13-14 from noon to 8 p.m. at the Sound View Inn in Greenport. Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the annual North Fork Chamber of Commerce parade, Saturday, March 15, at 2 p.m. The route runs along Main Road between Cox Lane and Cases Lane. If your group or organization would like to participate call 765-3161.
The Cutchogue Homemakers invite you to bring your favorite game for Game Day and Pizza on Tuesday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at Cutchogue Methodist Church. On March 18 at 11 a.m. you can kiss the Blarney Stone at the Homemakers’ St. Patrick’s party and on March 25 the group will meet at the nutrition center in Mattituck at 11 a.m. for lunch and then a tour (optional) of the Suffolk County Historical Society in Riverhead. Congratulations to Jon Schusteritsch of Cutchogue, who won first place at the “Music in Images” photography exhibit at Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery on Main Road. The exhibit is open Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through March 21.
Nancy Kreppein will tell you how proud she and her husband are of their son Peter, who recently soloed at Farmingdale State College’s flight program while she “watched and prayed!” In December, he graduated magna cum laude from SUNY/Albany with a degree in journalism. During college, he interned with the Times Union and worked at an NBC TV affiliate. He always liked computers and worked part-time doing IT at the college, which eventually turned into a full-time job there.
CAST’s Have-a-Heart dinner has been rescheduled for Friday, March 21, with seatings at 5 and 7 p.m. Call 477-1717 to make a reservation.
The Mattituck-Cutchogue PTSA’s annual fashion show at Vineyard Caterers will feature models from the high school’s graduating Class of 2014. The dinner is set for Wednesday, April 2, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person (cash bar) and will be available for purchase March 19 and 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the high school gym foyer. Just imagine taking a picture of an item, having a computer transmit the image to a printer and having a plastic 3D version of the item emerge from the printer. That’s exactly what the 3D printer on display at the library can do. It will be on display only until Saturday, March 8, so be sure to stop in and check it out.
