Bertha M. Lynch

Longtime Cutchogue resident Bertha M. Lynch died March 12 at her home. She was 90.

She was born April 23, 1923, in New York City to Theresa (Hefter) and Joseph Temming. Ms. Lynch graduated from Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City in 1943 and worked at Bellevue Hospital. She married Seamus Lynch April 23, 1949, in Glen Rock, N.J.

Ms. Lynch was a past member of Cutchogue Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a member of North Fork Country Club. Family members said she enjoyed gardening, birds, bowling, golf, bridge and traveling.

She was predeceased by her husband in 2005 and her son, Brian in 1997. Ms. Lynch is survived by her children, Kate Lynch Lewis of Saranac Lake, N.Y., Kevin of Cutchogue and Dion of Mattituck; her grandchildren, Jennifer Lynch Jahn, Allison, Daniel, Seamus Lewis, Gabrielle Lewis, Declan and Brian.

The family received visitors March 16 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A funeral service took place March 17 at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck. Interment took place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cutchogue.
