Neighborhood News: Greenport PTA clothing drive, craft fair

Greenport school budget workshop scheduled for April 3, 2013

Up for some spring cleaning? I’ve got just the place for you to deposit those no-longer-useful items. Greenport’s PTA is hosting a clothing drive through April 12. Clothing, shoes, purses, backpacks, quilts, sheets, towels, curtains, hats, scarves, rugs and toys are all being accepted and can be dropped off in the main lobby of the school.

The PTA will also host a Mother’s Day craft fair on Sunday, May 4, rain or shine. If the day is beautiful, it will be held on the school’s front lawn. If it rains, the event will be in the small gym.Either way, it will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you’re a vendor and are interested in participating, contact Erin Corazzini at 631-463-1352 for more information and to reserve a spot.

Just a reminder to one and all that if you send me something for the column via email, please put what you want printed in the column in the body of your email rather than sending an attachment. There are just too many viruses in computerland and I’m trying to avoid getting one on my system at all costs. Thanks so much for understanding.

Congratulations are most defi nitely in order to Jennifer and Steven Quillin on the birth of their daughter, Emma BinhQuillin, on March 4. Emma tipped the scales at 8 pounds, 8 ounces. Oh-so-pleased with her arrival are paternal grandparents, Lori and Kevin Quillin, paternal great-grandmothers Maryann Dinizio and Ethel Quillin and maternal grandfather Van Dang.

Congregation Tifereth Israel on Fourth Street will host Passover Seder dinners on April 14 and 15 and members of the public are invited to attend.
