Cops: Serial tab-skipper busted again

A Manorville man was arrested for the second time in less than a month after police said he chewed and screwed from yet another North Fork restaurant.

According to Southold Police, 48-year-old Harry Renck and one other man left a New Suffolk restaurant without paying the tab on Feb. 23. Employees at the time gave police a detailed description of the men, and after being shown a photo line-up by police, ID’d Mr. Renck as one of the two who ate without paying his fare.

Mr. Renck had been arrested by police in March after authorities said he skipped out on a bill at a Route 48 business with an 80-year-old Central Islip man.

After being tracked down by Southold Police for the February incident, he was arrested and released on $300 cash bail. He has a court appearance in Southold Town later this month.

During the investigation, police also said they found out that he dined and dashed in Patchogue on March 15 of this year. Court records online indicate that he’s been arrested five times since 2012 on misdemeanor charges including petty larceny and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
