“A Passion for Colour,” an exhibit of original art by Mac Titmus and Christopher Alexander, will be on display June 3 to 14 at Southold Historical Society’s Cosden-Price Gallery in the Reichert Family Center on Main Road. A reception will be held Friday, June 6, from 5 to 7 p.m.

According to a release, the artists employ “saturated color, lyrical movement, forceful line and complex imagery.” Mr. Titmus, a specialist in abstract digital collage, digital painting and fine art imagery, presents visions that “seek your personal interpretation.” Mr. Alexander is a self-taught painter whose process developed naturally and who draws inspiration from the work of O’Keefe, Kandinsky and Picasso.

• North Fork artist Ellen Weiner and poet LB Thompson will be featured in “Forest Mirror Ink Page” from May 31 to July 6 at Art Sites Gallery in Riverhead.

The artists’ collaborations “Longhand Forest & Fibonacci Monstrosity” and “Cabinet With Cards & Poems in the Suit of Diamonds” are part of the “playful and interactive” installation. In “Longhand Forest,” “words and images reel together … [in a] design based on the Fibonacci sequence,” a specific sequence of numbers. The “Cabinet With Cards” painting is surrounded by 13 poems; together they “interrogate the curious economics and ethics of the material world.”

The display includes a fieldbook and boxed deck of cards based on the exhibit. The show will open with a reception Saturday, May 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. with a reading at 6.

• “Captured McGraphics,” outdoor and wildlife photography by Jerry McGrath, will be on view during June at Mattituck-Laurel Library. A reception is planned for 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8.

• A reception for abstract artist Anahi DeCanio and printmaker Michael Maas will be held Sunday, June 1, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Jamesport Manor Inn’s Rosalie Dimon Gallery. An exhibit of their work runs through July 30.

Call for artists: Work is sought for East End Arts’ juried all-media show, ‘Composition,’ which will be exhibited June 20 to Aug. 1 at the Riverhead gallery. Guest juror is Eric Brown, artist and co-owner of Tibor de Nagy Gallery in New York.

Poetry entries will be accepted online only until June 3. Visual art entries will be accepted at the gallery between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, June 12 and 13, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 14.
