Ahhh! Sunshine and warmer temperatures are here. I’m in heaven.

The 2014 GHS All-Class Reunion will be held July 19, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Fifth Street Park. Local bands will play and a DJ will spin your favorite tunes. T-shirts, sweatshirts, coffee mugs and canvas tote bags will be for sale and can be pre-ordered for pickup. A shuttle bus will run from the Polo Grounds on Moore’s Lane to the park entrance, tentatively set for peak hours of 11 a.m. to noon and 3 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Questions? Contact Tom Krumenacker at 561-844-8888 or [email protected].

People have been asking how they can help with this reunion. Well, it would be appreciated if you brought salads and such to share and, of course, all monetary contributions to offset the cost will be gladly accepted. You can send a check payable to GHS All Class Reunion to Annemarie Heaney Chouinard, P.O. Box 828, Ridgely, MD 21660.

This is a shout-out to the Class of ’74! It’s been 40 years since you left the hallowed halls of GHS so try to make it to the reunion on July 19. There will be a tent for the class so bring beverages and snacks to share with your fellow classmates.

Healing wishes go out to Susan DeDuck, who recently underwent surgery.

Kelton Brooks, daughter of Adam and Wende Brooks of Norman, Okla., graduated recently from Norman North High School. Marjorie Baldwin of Greenport is Kelton’s great-grandmother and former Greenporter Donna Baldwin Hartmann of North Port, Fla., is her grandmother.

A ‘Jazz to the Classics’ performance to benefit CAST’s Feed-A Kid program will take place Saturday, June 14, at 3 p.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. The suggested donation is $15. If you cannot attend, consider sending a check payable to Holy Trinity Church, annotated CAST, P.O. Box 502, Greenport 11944.

As every year, I’m truly amazed by our community’s generous support for its graduating senior class, which held its annual scholarship breakfast last Friday. The sheer number of scholarships awarded is astounding. On behalf of everyone, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who contributed. A special round of applause goes to Diane Peterson, who oversees the entire project. It’s an immense amount of work and she does a wonderful job orchestrating it all.

Birthday wishes go out to Alex Whittle and “Stash” Droskoski on June 13; Joanne Mosher, Andre Puerta and my godmother Helen Finno on the 14th; Chris Manfredi Sr. on the 16th; Art Comiskey, Bobby Mills, Shyane Jones, Geno Mazzaferro, Crystal Rock and my cousin Melanie Wilinski on the 17th; Mark Standish, Joan Olszewski and Gloria Karavas on the 18th; Dominick Skabeikis, Michelle Dinizio, Warren Jensen and Kathy Arnold Richter on the 19th; Joe Barszczewski and Fritz Roemer on the 21st; Clara Jacquet and Carol Allen on the 22nd; Chris Latney, Betty Kiernan, Sarah Manfredi, Karre Brown, Mark Mysliborski and Louis Swain on the 24th; and Carol Gillooly and Angie Smith on the 25th.
