San Simeon by the Sound has announced the appointment of a new director of admissions, who is in charge of all aspects of admitting patients for short-term rehabilitation and long-term care at the Greenport facility.

Pamela Dean, a Smith Point resident, brings more than 20 years of health care experience, most recently as director of admissions at another skilled nursing facility, according to a release from the nursing, rehabilitation and adult day health care facility.

Ms. Dean received her bachelor’s degree in gerontology from Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Penn. and is a member of Senior Umbrella Network of Suffolk (SUNS).

“We are delighted to have Pam Dean join our exceptional team,” said Steven Smyth, the facility administrator. “Her training and expertise will help San Simeon continue to provide top quality care in this ever-evolving health care arena.”

Ms. Dean began her post in June.
