Phyllis Jean Mokus

Lifelong Greenport resident Phyllis Jean Mokus died July 1. She was 67.  

She was born Nov. 2, 1946, in Greenport to Dorothy (Capon) and Gabriel Grilli and graduated from Greenport High School.

Ms. Mokus was predeceased by her parents and her son, Thomas Mokus Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Gatz of Cutchogue; her significant other, Miguel DeJesus; her brothers, Gabriel and Ronald Grilli, both of Greenport; and four grandchildren.

Arrangements were private and handled by Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport. A memorial service will take place Wednesday, July 16, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Southold, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Peter Kelly. Interment will be private.
