Workshop to help growers improve soil health
Local growers are invited to take part in a daylong soil health workshop Friday at Long Island Horticultural Research and Extension Center in Riverhead.
Guest speakers will be giving presentations at the free event on everything from cover crops, plant diseases and improving soil health after extreme weather events.
The event is presented by the Suffolk County Soil and Water Conservation District, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Long Island Horticultural Research and Extension Center and the NYS Soil & Water Conservation Committee.
