Cops: Queens man nabbed after stealing tote bag

A Queens man was arrested Sunday afternoon after stealing a tote bag from a Greenport store, Southold Town police said. 

An employee at a Main Street store spotted Evangelous Theodoratos, 67, of Woodside taking something from a shelf and walking outside with it around 12:30 p.m., police said.

Police later found Mr. Theodoratos with the tote bag and arrested him. He was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor, and was released from custody on $200 bail. He is due back in Southold Town court at a later date, police said.
