• A concert titled ‘Craigslistlieder and Other Love Songs’ will be presented at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at Poquatuck Hall in Orient.

Pianist Steven Blier will be joined by soprano Chelsea Morris, mezzo soprano Lauren Eberwein, tenor William Goforth and bass Theo Hoffman. Their program will include solos and quartets by Granados, Grieg, Frank Bridge, Stephen Sondheim, Stenhammar, Gabriel Kahane and Smokey Robinson.

The concert, presented by Oysterponds Community Activities, is part of the Poquatuck Hall Concert Series, produced and directed by Jane Smith. It’s also part of the New York Festival of Song’s Emerging Artist Series.

According to the New York Festival of Song’s website, the series began in 1988, organized by Mr. Blier and his fellow Manhattan-based pianist Michael Barrett. The aim was to share unusual and rarely heard songs. The NYFOS motto is “No song is safe from us.”

Tickets are $20. Reserve in advance by calling Ms. Smith at 323-1378. Tickets will also be sold at the door (cash only). Visit nyfos.org/Orient for more information.

• Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council will be the beneficiary of Art on the Green, an art show and sale set for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, on the Cutchogue Village Green.

• A photograph by Alex Ferrone, who has a gallery in Cutchogue, has been chosen to be included in the Heckscher Museum of Art’s Long Island Biennial 2014. The show is on view through Nov. 30 at the Huntington museum. Ms. Ferrone’s photo, titled “Genesis,” is from her “Aerial Observations” series.

• Mattituck artist Pat Feiler was selected the winner of the first Thomas Currie-Bell Memorial Purchase Prize offered by Southold Historical Society for her painting “S.S. Rendezvous and Race.” The prize was given for the work judged to be the best in the society’s first “North Fork Annual” juried art exhibition, which opened Aug. 8 in the society’s Cosden-Price Gallery in downtown Southold.

Ms. Feiler’s painting depicts several vintage sailboats, including the locally owned S.S. 76, competing in a regatta. It will be added to the historical society’s permanent collection.

The exhibit continues through Aug. 23.
