Cops: Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Mattituck

A routine traffic stop lead to a drug arrest last week in Mattituck, police said. Christopher Catalano, 26, of Mattituck was stopped for a traffic violation on Main Road at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 4, police said.

A further investigation of the car turned up marijuana and four packages of the prescription drug Suboxone, for which Mr. Catalano could not provide a doctor’s script, police said.

Police said officers also found four hypodermic needles in the car, which Mr. Catalano told officers he was using to “shoot up” the Suboxone.

He was arrested and taken to police headquarters to await morning arraignment.
