Evans Dittman

Former Peconic resident Evans Dittman, age 59, of Washington, N.J. died Sept. 4, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pa. after a valiant battle with melanoma.  

Evans was born in East Orange, N.J. and was the son of Richard and Barbara (Morgan) Dittman. He was employed by Secant Medical in Perkasie, Pa., which custom engineers biomedical textiles.

Evans was an Eagle Scout and was very active in the Boy Scouts Troop 200 Annandale, N.J.

He is survived by his wife, Diane (née Thomson) Dittman; his son, Jason; his father, Richard Dittman; his brother, Peter and his fiancee Jeanne; his brother, David and his wife Susan; nephews, Andrew and Nick; and niece, Leah. He is also survived by his aunt, Sally Morgan. Evans was predeceased by his mother and his uncle, William Morgan.

A memorial service was held Sept. 7 at Pattenburg United Methodist Church in Asbury, N.J., with the Rev. Timothy Espar officiating.
