Southold Town will host two public hearings during its regular session Tuesday afternoon.
The first hearing gives residents an opportunity to discuss how they believe funds from a Federal Community Development Block Grant should be allocated.
In April 2015, the Town is expected to receive roughly $74,000 in grant funding to meet local housing and community development needs. These funds have previously been used for a variety of projects such as land acquisitions, the demolition of blighted properties, and street reconstruction.
The second hearing is to discuss proposed legislation that would impose restrictions on the duration of Zoning Board of Appeals variance approvals, allowing applicants no more than six years to begin their projects after a variance is approved.
After six years, homeowners would be required to apply for an entirely new variance, according to the draft law.
The hearings are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in the Town Hall meeting room.
