Littia Ann Floyd

Longtime Greenport resident Littia Ann Floyd died Nov. 15 at Riverhead Care Center. She was 61. 

She was born June 20, 1953, in Waukegan, Ill. to Annie C. Williams and John Cole. She moved to Greenport and attended Greenport High School.

Ms. Floyd worked as a chamber maid for Townsend Manor in Greenport and frequently volunteered at Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church.

Family members said she could be seen briskly walking around Greenport, talking to people and helping them out. While residing at the Care Center, Ms. Floyd was known for helping other residents.

Predeceased by her husband, and a sister, she is survived by her son, Warren Palmore of San Diego, Calif.; her daughters, Selena Riggins of Greenport and Charlene McIntyre of Manorville; her sisters, Violet Reed of Greenport and Paula Williams of Waukegan; four brothers, Robert Palmore of Birmingham, Ala., Edward Palmore of Pleasant Praire, Wis., Paul Williams of Appleton, Wis, and Bruce of Waukegan; three grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held Nov. 29 at Clinton Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in Greenport.

Arrangements were handled by Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport.
