Loving father and husband, Thomas R. Pilles died peacefully in his home Dec. 22, 2014. He was 69.
He was born and raised in Greenport and was a strong, resilient man who valued hard work, honesty and a good sense of humor.
Tom worked at Mullen Motors for 40 years. His hobbies included, but were not limited to, flying model planes, coin collecting, motorcycles, antique cars, metal detecting and clamming. At the heart of each passion was a circle of dear, lifelong friends.
Tom is survived by his wife, Marie of Greenport; his children, Dana Hausen of Florida, Lisa Krapf of Connecticut, Ajia Tinnin, Tommy Finne and Jonathan Finne of New York; his grandchildren, Joshua and Timothy Krapf, Hanna, Emma and Clay Hausen and six stepchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, John Joseph and Florence Ann of New York. Tom was predeceased by his daughter, Vicki Ann Pilles and his brother, Richard Simon Pilles, his mother, Delia Malinauskas and his father, John Pilles.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial was held Dec. 29 at St. Agnes R.C. Church in Greenport, officiated by Father Richard Hoerning. The Rite of Committal was private.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes in Southold.
