Featured Letter: Soccer players should wear helmets

To the editor:
I would like to recommend that school districts look into getting helmets, like bike riders have, to protect soccer players. There are a lot of soccer players who get concussions. A soccer ball travels 40-50 mph and can hurt when a player heads the ball or when two players go up for a ball.
Lacrosse and football players wear helmets for some protection. I also feel the schools should look into helmets for field hockey.
As the old saying reminds us, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
