Robert C. Lazuta

Robert C. Lazuta of Mattituck died suddenly Jan. 6, 2015. He was 62.

He was born in Brooklyn Aug. 26, 1952, to Elizabeth (née Prach) and Constantin Lazuta and grew up in Westbury.

A North Fork resident for the past 20 years, he was a retired Long Island Rail Road conductor. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, throwing darts, Disney World, warm weather and all things having to do with trains. His kindness and generosity will be missed by so many.

He is survived by his wife, Carole J. (née Martin); and siblings, Diane Lazuta of Westbury, Richard of West Babylon, James of Brooksville, Fla. and Catherine (Peter) Nettesheim of Huntington.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, Jan. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck.
