Southold Town kicks off 375th anniversary celebration

Southold Town and its 375th Anniversary Committee held a cocktail party at Brecknock Hall in Greenport Saturday night to launch the year-long celebration of the 1640 founding of Southold Town.

Committee chairman Herb Adler welcomed dozens of guests including elected officials, historians and town residents.  He presented a calendar of events which includes lectures, concerts and a gala parade scheduled for August 1 in Southold.

Newly elected Congressman Lee Zeldin presented the committee with a special congressional recognition of the 375th anniversary.
