Southampton Town’s Police Officer of the Year spent a lot of time in the Flanders/Riverside area combatting illegal drug sales.

Officer Bryan Cobb, a six-year veteran whose patrol includes the Flanders, Riverside, Northampton sector, made 80 arrests in 2014 and issued 282 traffic summonses, according to Southampton Police Chief Robert Pearce.

“What sets Bryan apart from the other excellent candidates is his significant contribution in drug enforcement efforts, especially in the Flanders/Riverside community,” Chief Pearce said. “His arrests resulted in 56 counts of drug offense charges being filed with the courts … he has made our streets safer in removing drug dealers and their product from our streets.”

Mr. Cobb is also a member of the department’s Emergency Services Unit and a volunteer with the Flanders Fire Department, according to Chief Pearce.
