It’ll be a North Fork affair in the first round of the Class B girls basketball playoffs.

Mattituck was seeded fourth in the brackets released today by Section XI and the Tuckers will face Southold/Greenport  at 6 p.m. Friday. The winner advances to play No. 1 Hampton Bays Monday.

The Tuckers and Clippers were in different leagues this year, but they did meet early in the season in non-league. The Tuckers won going away, 53-25, on Dec. 8.

Mattituck posted a 9-9 overall record this year and was 7-3 in League VII. The Clippers went 9-7 overall and were 7-3 to finish in second place in League VIII.

The Clippers finished the season on a three-game win streak, including a 39-35 win over McGann-Mercy Friday night.

Mercy was seeded sixth in the Class B bracket and the Monarchs will open the playoffs at No. 3 Port Jefferson at 5 p.m. Friday. The Monarchs went 0-2 against the Royals this season, losing most recently, 51-31, on Feb. 4.
