Cub Scouts hold annual Pinewood Derby races in Peconic

Cub Scouts from Pack 6 gathered last Saturday, March 14, at the Southold Town Recration Center in Peconic to participate in this year’s Pinewood Derby event.

Each winter, Scouts from Packs across the U.S. sculpt cars from a block of pinewood, along with axles and wheels, and then test their mettle against one another’s creations on the track.

This year’s first place honors for Pack 6 of Southold went to Stephan Clements, a Webelos Scout, second place went to Jack Sepenoski, a Bear Scout, and William Helinski, a Wolf Scout, took third place.
