Pat Romanelli of Farmingdale and Laurel died March 26 in his 83rd year.

He was the beloved husband of Loda; the devoted father of Martin (Lynn), Paul (Theresa), the late John (Heather) and the late Joseph; the cherished grandfather of Matthew, Chris, Brian, Ethan, James, Tara and Peter; the beloved great-grandfather of Cedar; and the beloved brother of Agnes Schuller.

Pat was the lifetime business owner of Romanelli & Son in Lindenhurst and a founding director of the Oil Heat institute of Long Island and the Empire State Petroleum Association.

He served his country as a U.S. Army military policeman and received an honorable discharge.

Pat served his community with active positions on Farmingdale Village zoning board, then as an elected trustee and deputy mayor. He was a former Farmingdale Rotarian. Pat also served in leadership positions with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 514. He was an always-proud alumnus of Farmingdale High School, Class of ’49, and enjoyed organizing reunions with his local classmates.

The family received visitors March 28 and 29 at McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home in Farmingdale. A funeral Mass was held March 30 at St. Kilian R.C. Church in Farmingdale. Interment took place St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
