Achievements: Laurel man joins Summerall Guards at The Citadel

• Matthew Ireland of Laurel has been selected to join the Summerall Guards, a silent precision drill platoon, at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, where he is a senior cadet. The Summerall Guards are made up of 61 senior cadets chosen for their physical stamina and drill proficiency.

• Dylan Hahn of Mattituck has been named to the fall dean’s list at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa.

• Kate Nolan of Cutchogue has earned a place on the fall dean’s list at the University of Delaware in Newark.

• Kyle Simcik of East Marion has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at The College of Saint Rose in Albany.
