Cops: Greenport man charged with DWAI in Cutchogue

A 25-year-old Greenport man was arrested for driving while ability impaired by alcohol and a number of other traffic violations in Cutchogue last Thursday, Southold Town police said. 

Tonino Escobarmontenegro was stopped on Main Road around 3 a.m. for failing to maintain his lane and following to close to the vehicle in front of him, police said.

According to police, he had bloodshot eyes and a strong smell of alcohol on his breath.  A further check revealed Mr. Escobarmontenegro was driving without a license, police said.

He was arrested and later released on $250 bail.
