Cops: Peconic man had cocaine, pills in his car

A 41-year-old Peconic man was found in possession of cocaine after police pulled him over for a traffic violation in Mattituck Friday night, Southold Town police said. 

Michael E. McGreevy was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.

Police stopped Mr. McGreevy for a traffic violation on Elijahs Lane at 11:18 p.m. Police found a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine, as well as pills that were identified as oxycodone, in the vehicle, according to a press release. Police also found a scale.

Mr. McGreevy was arrested and held for arraignment, police said.
