A Greenport woman and her daughter who were reported missing in New York City last week have both been located “in good health at an undisclosed location,” according to Southold Town Police.

Fifty-one year old Iona Costello and her daughter Emily, Southold Police Chief Martin Flatley said last week, had gone away on a trip as planned, but did not return home in time.

They had last been seen on March 30. Family and friends had tried calling several times and received no response, and not long after Emily did not show up for school as planned, the family filed the missing persons report.

According to Southold Police, the pair were found by New York City police, and no further investigation is needed at this time.

Mr. Flatley said there are about a half-dozen missing person reports filed with the town police department each year.
